What Makeup products do you use?
Some of Janet’s preferred premier products include brands such as Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Lancôme, M.A.C and NARS

How long does a makeup application take?

Makeup application times vary, based on the type of look you are wanting. Allow up to 45 minutes for a standard application, or 1.5 hours for a bridal makeup trial, which gives us time to discuss what look you are after and evaluate the application if any changes are needed.

Do I come to you or do you come to me?

I offer a mobile-only service, so I will travel to your location. In some instances, I can organise a premises, on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need to have a trial for my wedding makeup?
Absolutely! This is the time where you put the finishing touches on your wedding look, so that you can relax and enjoy your big day. The last thing you want during your wedding is to be worrying about whether your makeup will turn out as you had imagined, or running out of time to try a different shade of lipstick.

What do I need to bring/wear to my makeup trial?
Photos of makeup looks you like
Photos of the hairstyle you’ll be having
Photos similar to your bouquet colourings
Photos or fabric samples of yours and your bridesmaid(s) dresses
Wear a plain white top (if you are wearing white on your wedding day)
Bring a camera so you can see what your makeup looks like in photos

Will my makeup last all day and how can I retouch my lipstick that is applied if need be?
Yes, Janet prides herself on using premium products that are long lasting.
With any makeup application service Janet provides a free sample of the lipstick used so that you are able to reapply if needed throughout the day or evening.

Do you recommend getting a spray tan?
It is not essential that you get a spray tan for your event, but it can look gorgeous when done by a professional.

If you haven’t had a spray tan before, I would recommend a trial before your event to ensure you are happy with the end result.

I am very particular with spray tans (being extremely pale myself) and have tried them all! Please refer to my ‘Friends” tab for details on Endless Summer Tans, whom I always trust to look after my clients when it comes to a natural-looking tan.

Do you recommend getting eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions open up the eyes and give you that extra wow factor. They last up to 3-4 weeks so you’ll be able to enjoy them even after your special event! They can be high maintenance, so you will need to take care when washing your face to avoid any extensions falling out prematurely. I don’t do eyelash extensions, but I can recommend suppliers.

An alternative to eyelash extensions is false lashes. I am very particular about what brands/types I use as I want them to look natural. When wearing a pair, I often get asked if they are eyelash extensions or my own eyelashes.

False lashes are applied at the time of your makeup application and are removed by peeling them off before you go to bed.

If you are a bride-to-be and haven’t had eyelash extensions or false eyelashes before, I recommend triailing them before your big day.

Do you travel outside of the Manawatu?
Yes, but travel costs do apply for a location beyond 25km from Palmerston North city centre.

Depending on the location, accommodation costs may also apply.

These costs are negotiated when booking your service.
